WHAT WE CAN ALL LEARN FROM GUCCI’S LATEST TREND IN ‘NAIL ART’

Gucci just took hand and nail bling to a whole new level. At the latest resort 2018 show in Florence last weekend, Gucci creative director, Alessandro Michele – well known for constantly breaking barriers in beauty – showed off the newest trend in nail art, “dipped ink” nails.

Lead by head manicurist at the show, Jenny Longworth, some models had their fingers dipped in a black ink, from fingertips to knuckles. The nails were then topped with truly over-the-top rings and ornate hand jewellery that has blown anything we’ve previously seen out of the water.

While it’s mostly unlikely that this runway trend will catch on off the catwalk, one thing Gucci’s dipped ink nails can teach us is to embrace some bolder choices in nail art. Perhaps we’ll be requesting for all-black nails on our next appointment and adorning our hands with luxurious pearls? Yes, yes.
