Style is subjective, but what we can all agree on is that some men in Africa have a knack for getting it right more often than the rest of us simple souls. You, no doubt, have people you look to, whether it’s on social media or television, for some style advice or inspiration, but this guide is going to narrow down some of the most stylish men in Africa this year. As much as we love them, this list is a little different. This is our homage to the men who are more than just handsome clothes horses – though handsome many of them indeed are (never hurts, does it?). African men who dress to their own beat. Men who are the picture of elegance, insouciance and – occasionally – courage, all embodying Orson Welles assertion that “style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.”
So, as 2018 approaches, it’s time to look back on the year that was. While best-dressed lists are normally dominated by female stars, we felt it was only fair to also showcase the stylish men in the spotlight. Whether it’s slick tailoring or cool sportswear, these A-listers are providing their female colleagues with some serious sartorial competition. From red carpet regulars to rising stars, these are SCHICK’s most stylish men of 2017.
