With a long stretch of A-list clientele spanning from David Bowie to Mick Jagger, Daniel Day-Lewis, Robbie Williams, Will Smith, Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne, Anthony Hopkins, Spike Lee, Lenny Kravitz, Jamie Foxx and many more stars, Oswald Boateng OBE is definitively the bespoke couturier of Saville Row. Our #SCHICKMan this week is the man who shook up the men’s fashion industry, he has had a transformational impact on menswear fashion for almost three decades, with a design aesthetic rooted in Saville Row traditions but defined by international style, detail, and artistry.
Born to Ghanian parents, Oswald Boateng started making suits at the age of 16. Since then, his instinctive use of colour, cut and fabric fuses traditional classic British tailoring with a high-end modern design. Being the first black man to set up shop on Saville Row, and the first black tailor to have a catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week, this fashion maven has always focused on the refinement of a man’s silhouette, and as such, as brought tailoring to a whole new generation of men. He is our #SCHICKMan this week!
