Models on the runway are meant to be the main focus of any fashion week, but in all honesty, most of us are more interested in what???s happening on the front row. The FROW is as much a fashion show as the catwalk. As New York Fashion Week comes to a close, there was a clear winner in the celeb style stakes: Rapper Cardi B.??This time last year you might not have heard of Cardi B, but thanks to smash hit Bodak Yellow and an engagement to Migos member Offset, she???s been catapulted into our Instagram feeds. Cardi B is hot property, so all the top designers wanted her on their frow ??? and here???s how she served the looks.
Alexander Wang
Perhaps the most iconic moment of NYFW this year was when Cardi B sat next to none other than Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour at Alexander Wang???s show. The picture went viral, as people started wondering what the unlikely duo would have talked about. The notoriously stiff upper-lipped Wintour looks quite relaxed and as though she???s enjoying herself, so people have been wondering if this is the new friendship that we never knew we needed?
Prabal Gurung
Cardi attended the Gurung show with her fiance Offset, wearing a long, sleek beige coat and extra-long hair extensions. As per usual, Cardi sported her extra-long bedazzled talons ??? it???s safe to say she doesn???t do much washing up with nails like that.
Christian Siriano
Looking ever the refined lady, Cardi wore a tailored green suit to Siriano???s 10th-anniversary show, accessorised with a fur stole and cat-eye sunglasses. She was less demure in her description of the show itself, telling the New York Post backstage: ???He violated. I want all of it.??? Bonus points to Cardi for not taking her sunglasses off throughout the show, just to add some extra drama to her look.
Jeremy Scott
Cardi sat on the frow of Scott???s show wearing one of his menswear designs for Moschino ??? a fur coat plastered with newsprint, along with thigh high white boots. She accessorised with the eyewear of the season: Small sunglasses. As Kanye West told Kim Kardashian over email last month ??? big sunglasses are out, and you should only be wearing tiny glasses, even if they look like something out of The Matrix.
Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs is traditionally the final show on the NYFW calendar, and this year Cardi went out with a bang. Wearing head to toe Jacobs, she once again inclined towards elegance, with mint green fur and black gloves. This is the third time during fashion week we???ve seen her wear cat???s eye glasses, clearly her favourite look of the moment.
