Maki Osakwe. The Nigerian Creative Director behind womenswear brand Maki Oh had teased the title of her Summer Spring 2019 collection as ‘Buka Special’. With pieces boldly stating “Fresh Fish”, the runway showcase showed a fusion of traditional African techniques with detailed contemporary construction. With cotton, silk, sheer ruffles and asymmetrical pieces and versatile use of fabric choices, the African designer showed why she deserved her spot on the international fashion stage.
