Beyoncé and JAY-Z continue to take over the world with their On the Run II tour, and the accompanying visuals are proving to be just as exciting as the actual performances. The couple kicked off their huge joint tour in Cardiff last week, treating fans to collective onslaught of hits and huge singles spanning both their careers.
But the couple shared even more intimate images for their On the Run Tour Book, which some lucky fans were able to acquire at the concerts. On sale at all shows across their tour is the souvenir programme booklet, which features intimate photos of the couple in bed, at rest and at the beach. One shot features the couple in a cool pose but the amazing thing is her shoes! Beyonce is seen wearing the Stell Mules by Brother Vellies in ‘Lagos Lace’.
Brother Vellies was founded by Aurora James with the goal of introducing the rest of the world to her favorite traditional African footwear, while also creating and sustaining artisanal jobs within Africa. Handmade in South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya and Morocco, Brother Vellies creates boots, shoes and sandals in styles that maintain the spirit and durability of their ancestral counterparts.
Currently based in Brooklyn, Aurora finds herself traveling to and throughout Africa – most regularly South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Morocco – every few months to work with local artisans, to experience the continent’s diverse culture, and to discover new inspirations for the brand.
At the workshop in South Africa, a small group of men and women assemble a few dozen pairs of shoes a day by hand, using techniques refined over multiple generations. The workshop was established in 1963 and is an open space that welcomes artisans of all genders, sexual orientation, backgrounds and tribes.
The Stell Mules in Lagos Lace are available to buy on their website and it’ll cost you a pretty penny to rock this Beyoncé number!
