#SAFW AKA South African Fashion Week is here with the biggest in African fashion presenting their Spring/Summer 2018 collections. SCHICK is taking you on the fashion-forward journey by selecting our best looks from the runway showcases of your favourite designers. Day one had Rich Mnisi, Thebe Magugu and Wanda Lephoto present their collections at the fashion week’s first show of the season at Sandton City.
Day two of SA Fashion Week (SAFW) started with a stunning swimwear cruise collection by Beach Cult. In yellow, black, green, blue and white, the collection can be paired with matching coverups to create a statement look. For the sophisticated fashionable woman, Judith Atelier presented wide leg cropped pants, wrap dresses, stylish all-in-one jumpsuits and pantsuits with matching tops, all in red, white and a touch of dusty pink. Raising the flag high was Loayo Art & Creations who presented a bright collection of silk and sheer garments in rainbow colours. Other designers who showcased last night include Helon Melon, Amanda Laird Cherry, Sun Goddess and Erre.
Fast food and fashion collided on the catwalk on day three of SA Fashion Week. Celeb favourite Gert-Johan Coetzee collaborates with McDonald’s on a collection celebrating the Big Mac’s 50th birthday. What really made it the ‘big night’ of fashion week was the line-up of shows by SA’s all-star brands including Ephymol, Rubicon, Black Coffee, Clive Rundle and Isabell De Villiers.
